The Word – Jesus Christ’s revelation of God’s love to humanity
The Old Testament Scriptures are blended with the New in an explanation of God’s eternal purpose for His fallen creation.
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
Jesus Christ is the Gospel of the new dispensation portrayed in the Old Testament.
He said of the Old Testament Scriptures:
They are they which testify of Me. John 5:39.
And how much more it is true of the New?
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10.
Therefore, we exalt Jesus Christ as our loving Saviour in whom we behold the image (character) of the invisible God.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. John 1:1-3.
