Kept by the Power of God Through Faith in the Ever-present Saviour

I hope you enjoy reading this post. If you want to delve deeper into this topic – we can help, just ask.

The power of God is available to humans by accepting His Only-begotten Son as their Savior through faith.

This is God’s appointed way of bestowing His powerful gifts to humanity.

That power has found embodiment in Jesus as the only mediator between a holy God and sinful people.

Believer’s faith is a gift of God, which He grants freely, and out of His love.

This among others complements the two major gifts – the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

Kept by faith in a living Redeemer

It is my faith in His Son that triggers God’s powerful grace. He is willing to give the treasures of Heaven to me and you.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the one that trusteth in Him. Psalm 34:8.

Moreover, He will not deviate from it. But, He will never force, coarse, or mislead anyone.

Therefore, it is up to me to appropriate this power by living trust.

How can I do it in my Christian journey?

God is faithful and His promises in Christ are yes and amen. 2 Corinthians 1:20.

Furthermore, He has an unchangeable priesthood.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him,

seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:24, 25.

Therefore, I should commit the keeping of my soul to Christ.

Moreover, relying upon Him to finish perfectly the work of grace that began in my heart.

So, I can’t depend on avoiding temptations and performing duties to have acceptance with God. There are no victories in this kind of faith.

Kept by the love of Jesus

There can be no union between us and God except through Jesus.

The union and love among Christians must be strong and made eternal by His love.

It is His love that makes us loving.

We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19.

We recognize and understand with minds and hearts Christ’s love for us by contemplating His death on the cross

And it is His death that makes His love effective for us.

Furthermore, It is only because of His death that we can look with joy to His second coming.

His sacrifice is the centre of our hope. Upon this we must fix our faith.

We can do nothing to commend ourselves to Divine favour. But, we find rest in Christ’s love when as erring and sinful people we come to Him.

God will accept everyone that comes to Him trusting wholly in the merits of the crucified Saviour.

And when the soul is kept by the power of God through faith, the loving devotion comes and continues naturally.

All together it is an abiding and peaceful trust.

And experiencing the peace of God, which passes all understanding, who keeps your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.

Receiving Christ and growing in Him by faith

My faith must center on Jesus. It is by beholding Him in my daily life that I join Him in a perpetual covenant.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:

Rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Colossians 2: 6, 7.

I need to feed on His Word to make sure I will not be carried away from His truth by:

Philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8.

Moreover, holding onto His strength through His Spirit will be sufficient for every temptation I experience.

My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9.

I don’t need to be overwhelmed over some supposed future burden. But, I have to carry my Christian duties of today cheerfully.

Today’s faith and trust in Jesus, I must have. Today I may look to Him and live in peace kept by the power of God.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who hath begun a good work in me will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philippians 1:6.

Thus I glorify God as I am cheerful and happy in the assurance of His love

Conclusion on kept in God by faith

The Bible assures us that:

We are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:5.

It is by living faith and love that our lives are united to Christ and God.

Thus we have a constant confidence in Jesus, with a daily experience in His power to save unto the uttermost all that come unto God by Him.

Therefore, my appeal to you is – please take in the precious words of invitation that have been spoken to you by Jesus.
