Overview
God gives to His children an immortal inheritance. They receive this in the kingdom of Glory through the great sacrifice of the Lamb.
It is everyone’s privilege to choose Christ who can:
- Make you a partaker of His loving nature and character.
- Uplift you to the place where you will be acknowledged as the child of the heavenly King.
Jesus took His position at the head of a fallen humankind as uniting in His body humanity and Divinity.
This was the assurance that all might be done that can be done for the full restoration of the image of God in humans.
How wonderful is the plan of redemption in its simplicity and fullness! It provides the full pardon of sinners.
It also provides the way they may be accepted as children of God.
As many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name. John 1:12.
Becoming heirs of God together with Jesus
For example:
And if children, then heirs. Heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; Romans 8:17.
The kingdom, and dominion, and greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven,
was then given to the saints of the Most High who were to possess it forever, even forever and ever. Daniel 7:27.
Furthermore, they themselves are God’s inheritance. It is fascinating, isn’t it? For example:
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. The people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance. Psalm 33:12.
For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance.
He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness.
He led him about, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. Deuteronomy 32:9, 10.
Restoration through the transforming power of God’s Word and Spirit
The atoning sacrifice of God’s beloved Son on behalf of humans was complete. So, the restoration of the children of God from the defilement of sin must be also complete.
This is the manifestation of the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. Romans 1:16.
It is by the work of the Holy Spirit as Christ’s representative in the world as:
- Faithful and true witness of the Word of God.
- Searcher of the thoughts and purposes of the heart.
The Holy Spirit is constantly drawing the attention of people to the sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
Additionally, unfolding to the world the love of God to humanity, and His precious promises in Scriptures.
Furthermore, it is the Spirit of God that:
- Presents before the mind the moral standard of righteousness (aka The Ten Commandments) and convicts of sin.
- Recreates and sanctifies the human hearts, that they may become children of the Heavenly King.
Christ followers are chosen to be sanctified through obedience to the Word of truth by the enlightenment of His Spirit.
God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. That we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
And wherein He has made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:3, 4, 6.
Therefore, by beholding Jesus’ character and abiding in Him through His Word (aka the Bible), we are:
Changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Sons and daughters of God to inherit all things in Christ
The definition of the inheritance and its recipients is summed up in the following verses:
An incorruptible inheritance, and undefiled, that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you;
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:4, 5.
God’s children will have a home where there will be no more death nor grieving. For example:
There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain;
For the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me (John):
Write for these words are true and faithful. Revelation 21:4, 5.
Moreover, they will have a renewed spirit, mind and body.
For instance:
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
And God will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Revelation 21:3.
Those that overcome shall inherit all things;
And I will be their God (the Alpha and Omega – aka Jesus Christ), and they shall be My sons and daughters. Revelation 21:7.
And the angel shewed me (John) that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. Revelation 21:10
And I (John) saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. Revelation 21:22.
Returning back to humankind the lost dominion
The earth originally given to Adam as his kingdom was betrayed by him to Satan.
But it has been brought back by the great plan of redemption. It is done by Jesus who completed His mission of defeating sin and Satan.
He also himself likewise took part of flesh and blood. That through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. Hebrews 2:13, 14.
Satan turned man aside from the path of obedience. Through this success, he became “the god of this world“.
The god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4.
It is of this restoration that Micah prophesied:
O Tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion. Micah 4:8.
Additionally, the apostle Paul has referred to it as “the redemption of the purchased possession.” Ephesians 1:14.
Furthermore, the same final restoration of the original inheritance is referred to in Psalm 37:29. The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever.

Q-A take on God’s provision for His redeemed saints
Question: Of what does the Spirit bear witness?
Answer: Romans 8:16.
The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
Question: How does the Spirit bear witness?
Answer: In John 6:63 we learn that the words of Christ are spirit and life.
Then, we are sure we have the witness or testimony when:
- His word abides in us (John 3:24).
- Our lives answer to that word as the reflection in the mirror does to the face.
For the word is the Spirit’s testimony that we are children of God.
Question: If we are children, what rights do we have?
Answer: Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;
If so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
With whom are we joint heirs?
Answer: A joint heir is one who is in partnership with another in the inheritance. Humankind lost the dominion, or inheritance.
Christ gave his life to redeem it, and one by accepting him becomes an heir with him.
Question: With whom are we connected if we are heirs?
Answer: Galatians 3:7, 9, 29.
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
So then they who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Question: Of what was Abraham the heir?
Answer: Romans 4:13.
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law,;
But through the righteousness of faith.
Question: To what time are the saints sealed?
Answer: Ephesians 1:14.
Which is the earnestness of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

To whom is the first dominion promised to be restored?
Answer: Micah 4:8.
And thou, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion;
The kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
Question: What is meant by the “tower of the flock”?
Answer: Psalms 61:3; Proverbs 18:10.
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it, and are safe.
Question: Who are the daughters?
Answer: We conclude that the term “daughters” refers to the believers, or the flock. It is by comparing Micah 4:8 with Psalms 45:9, 10; Songs 5:8.
Additionally, Christ is often spoken of as the Shepherd of the flock. See John 10:7, 16.
