Overview of Faith And Acceptance chapter
Ask God to wash away your sins, and give you a new heart. Then believe that He does this because He has promised.
God offers love, and forgiveness free to all. His Spirit leads every individual along the way to Jesus.
He quickens your conscience. Thus you begin to see that sin has separated you from God. You long to be forgiven and cleansed.
God promises us – we must believe we do receive, and it is ours.
He does it all for you through Christ.
Believing in Christ for the forgiveness of sin
Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18.
Know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins. Matthew 9:6.
The object lesson and example come from the healing story of the man sick with palsy.
Jesus knowing the scribes’ thoughts said:
For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? Matthew 9:5.
Jesus helped people in the things which they can see (understand). Thus inspiring them with confidence in Him about things which they can’t see.
Additionally, leading them to believe in His power to forgive sins.
Christ gave the paralytic power to walk when the man believed that he was healed. Thus acting upon His word you are made whole.
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. Ezekiel 36:26.

Coming to Jesus just as we are
Jesus loves to have us coming to Him sinful, helpless and dependent.
So, claim the blessing of God even now. Come with all your weakness and sinfulness at His feet in humility.
Believe that Jesus pardons you personally. Take Him at His Word. Put away the doubt that His promises are not meant for you.
There are strength and grace for everyone through Christ. None are so sinful that they can’t find purity and righteousness in Jesus.
He is waiting to replace their garments (characters) stained and polluted with sin.
And putting upon them the white robes of His righteousness.
So, it is our privilege to go to Jesus and be cleansed. Thus standing before the Law of God without shame or remorse.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus;
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1.
Accepting the wanderer
God does not deal with us as finite people deal with one another. His thoughts are thoughts of mercy, love, and compassion.
He said by His prophets:
I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3.
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him, and abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7.
I have blotted out as a thick cloud thy transgressions and thy sins. Isaiah 44:22.
In the New Testament Book Of Luke, chapter 15, the parable tells you how the wanderer will be received:
But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him;
And had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. Luke 15:20.
Nothing can hurt your soul more, than entertaining a wrong conception of our Heavenly Father.
He hates sin, but He loves the sinner. He gave Himself, in the person of Christ, that all who would, might be saved.
Moreover, to have eternal blessedness in the kingdom of glory.
