Christ gives the gospel invitation to all. He earnestly pleads with everyone:
Come to Me so that you may have life. John 5:40.
In His love and mercy toward fallen humanity, God has made needed provisions for His erring children to return to Him.

Hearing the blessed invitation
Incline your ear, and come unto Me: Hear, and your soul shall live. Isaiah 55:3.
As soon as there was sin, there was a Saviour. Christ is the anointed of God, the Messiah and the world’s Savior.
Furthermore, His name is Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21.
Therefore, through Him come every blessing from God to fallen humans. He was the Redeemer before and after His incarnation.
The Bible tells us that He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (1 Peter 1:19-20, Revelation 13:8).
The world is committed to Christ by the Father and He gives light and life to all. In the first chapter of John’s gospel we read that:
All things were made by Him; and without Him there was not anything that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:3, 4.
Thus He enlightens everyone that had been born and will be born till His second coming.
This is the light of truth about salvation and eternal life granted by the grace of God to all who believe in His Son as their personal Savior.
Thus since the fall of our first parents, Christ has been working to unveil Satan’s deceptions and break his power over humanity.
And all the Scripture testify of Him. John 5:39.

Therefore, believe God and take Him at His Word. It is all free, provided for you and me out of His infinite and unconditional love.

Yoke up with Christ and bear His burdens only
Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30.
Do not pile upon yourselves burdens that weigh you down to the ground.
All your trouble is because you are so anxious to run things yourselves.
Moreover, that you do not wear the yoke of Christ, which He declares is easy.
God welcomes all who come to Him just as they are. But, those who don’t, they:
- Justify and build themselves up in self-righteousness.
- Take pride in their knowledge and claim merits for what they call good actions.
Rest in the love of Christ and trust Him as your Redeemer and Life-giver to work out for you the salvation of your soul.
The Lord telleth the number of the stars; and yet He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalm 147:4, 3.
Leave that work, which none of us can do, and put your trust in the One who has promised rest and contentment in His love.
For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;
but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15.
Let’s stay connected
Look to Jesus
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29.
No one will be forced to look to Christ. But the voice of invitation is sounding in yearning entreaty – Look and live.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up;
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15.
In looking to Christ, who was lifted up on the cross, we see that His love is without a parallel.
Moreover, we understand that He has taken the place of the guilty sinner, and has imputed unto one His spotless righteousness.
Therefore, when the sinner sees the Saviour dying upon the cross under the curse of sin in one’s stead, and beholding His pardoning love, then love rekindles in one’s heart.
The sinners love Christ, because Christ has first loved them. (1 John 4:19).
And love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:10.
The repenting soul realizes that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
Furthermore, the Spirit of God works in the believer’s soul, enabling one to advance from grace to grace in Jesus.
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Conclusion on Christ’s invitation
When we respond to Christ’s invitation we begin eternal life.
Even as we walk with Jesus in this life, we may be filled with His love and satisfied with His presence.
In the closing pages of the Bible, Christ’s calling is echoed down through the ages:
Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:1
The river of the water of life – clear as crystal – proceeds from the throne of God and the Lamb.
